leo511 is a fish. I won a nice pot here, but wondered if I could have extracted more from him. I know he will bet into me with almost any holding, hence I called him on the flop. However with a J appearing, I was afraid that he might have hit a higher straight than mine. I have read Renton's digest, and he advises to slow down if there are dangerous cards appearing later on the board.

Should I have raised on the river? If I raise, I believe he will call almost 80% of the time.

id raise his river bet becasue if he flopped the over straight with T8 your going bust anyway, its not like you dont want to play a big pot in this situation.

I might also raise the flop because you expect a couple of 8x's to chase. It wouldbe pot building rather than protection.

btw, what site is this HH from?

I'd probably raise the flop here - I want to play a big pot, and I don't want a scare card to kill my action. Also, one of the other players could stick around with a gutshot or a bare 8 and cost you.

The J on the river doesn't fill out any straight draws - T8 already had you beat. I make a raise he can call here.
