Let me start out by saying that I placed this guy on AJ, or AK preflop. He seemed a fairly conservative. When I hit trips on the flop I decided to slowplay just for kicks. When the 9 came on the turn, I did not place him on a straight because I doubt he would have raised preflop with K10. When he went all in on the turn I gladly called feeling confident I had best hand. Sure enough, QQQ vs. 999. After looking back, I realize how vulnerable my hand was to a straight, especially on the river. I probably won't be slow playing again in the future. Do you think slowplaying high trips is a bad idea? Any negative or positive comments welcomed.

tricky one...

My initial reaction is that u played it beautifully...only thing i wud say is that ya bet on the turn was weak, possible flush and/or str8 draw's out there. as it was it worked out fine. Also with ya raise pre-flop i cant see any1 calling that with K-10 (well i personally wudn't [subject to table position/style of table, etc.]) even if it was suited. That kind of a raise with the blinds obviously at such a small amount is quite a raise.

Also noticed the person with pocket 9's was in an early position his pre-flop raise is very weak, its perfect small raise of some1 with a lowish pocket pair (tryin to beef the pot up so if they hit their trips they are goin to win a nice pot). If u are in early position with K-10 its a very foldable hand, especially on a ten player table. In early position a small raise like that shows weakness imo or shows a potential slow play of Kings or rockets. And since u had flopped the nuts, u were right to check it...a bet of any variety with 2 face cards on board wud of scared any1 with a low pocket pair unless they badly misread u and thought u had nothing as well.

If my maths is correct the pot after the flop was 600. At the turn u bet 75 thats 8% of the pot. Even on just a flush draw he was calling with about %20 chance of making his hand. A bet of about 250/300 would be more suitable. Also a bet like this would look blatently like some1 with top pair nice kicker, easily forcing him to go over the top of u with his trip 9's.

Personally i'd say well played except a weak bet on the turn.
Glad it worked out well.
