No read...I figure he might have had AJ, but with the reraise on the flop I think he was ahead of my queens.

Anyone play different, push? How about preflop...I usually don't reraise queens, but I'm open to arguments advocating it.

I called his preflop raise.

If I was the raiser, I'd have played it differently.

I think you have to be able to make these kind of folds in ring games with deep stacks. Just the matter of making them at the right times against the right opponents.

This hand is all about reads. I think there is a strong case for just calling the flop if you don't want to play for stacks here. A line to consider is calling the flop and raising the turn. Consider a value bet on the river if he's really bad, but you're probably checking behind (if you don't fold to a re-raise.)

I think I would have reraised him preflop with QQ. If I was in your situation on the flop I would do what you did unless I knew he was a lag. You have to figure he has AJ, KK, JJ, or AA. It's hard to imagine him reraising your reraise with a bluff unless he's a total maniac. Plus he raised pre-flop so its more likely that he has a high pair than AJ or KJ. If he has an underpair to the jack I don't see him reraising your reraise on the flop. I think you were beat and you made the right decision.

This hand exemplifies why I like tourneys better than cash games, because in spots like this in tourneys I would pretty much always move in on his bet and I think 75 % of the time you'd be ahead.

CG I'm giving this guy my whole stack while he laughs with his AA.

I like the way you played the hand.. basically you played for the set plus maybe you end up with an overpair, when you make an "I can beat TPTK" play he comes back over the top, you're hand is probably no good.

Ya, this is a perfect example of why you reraise a highpocket pair preflop. You want to see if it turns into a pissing contest early so you can put him on something. You screwed yourself by just calling. Your advantage was a possible trap, but the disadvantage played against you this time.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
