im calling - id need some history or for the guy to know how i play here to muck.
This is a standard spot where hes likely to be bluffing 55 or 88 as much as anything good

Calling and mucking to a better hand here is not going to have much effect on your bbs/100 IMO

calling 100% of the time.

we check the turn because we want villain to do this.

QQ is the only hand you can really have that can call this, so I would. I dunno how good brtn is though, if he's more brainless you can probably fold and assume he was going for a turn c/r with a monster.

Is betting on the turn that bad ? As played, i'd call up to PSB for sure unless villain is a super passive nit like some meh regulars on stars.

hmm well it's either he's bluffing, or he has a monster that he's trying to get value from my overpairs with.

sounds like everyone thinks his bluffing frequency will be high enough to warrant a call. Seemed close to me.

We have a lot of history but i'm not sure how to describe it... mostly i've been running real good against him and almost every hand for more than $25 seems to involve a nonstandard line from one or both of us. I'm not 100% sure how that affects this hand.

this is a very common line that i take - it's the best way to get two streets of value from villain. Excellent check on turn on turn vs a guy you have history with... shows a lot of weakness and turns our over pair into a bluff catcher.

Aren't you forced to call the river because you checked the turn? Couldn't he play AJ/TT this way?
Playing big pots at small stakes.

a) who calls AJ in the blinds vs an EP raise?
b) TT can be played this way but he's turning his hand into a bluff on the river. The only hands he's doing this for value with are sets, KK, AA, maybe 76/87 if he's into playing those OOP.

damn shoulda called

meh fold still isn't horrible because there's not actually much in his range that he can turn into a bluff.

OP, your user name should be changed to: TwoStreets

Use it as a guideline from now on when trying to get value from over pairs.
