This felt weak. I think I shoulda pushed. I had no reads though and it seems like most times I've seen a 6x bb open pfr on 50nl it's a TT+ or AK, but this is a short stack.

Is this an easy push? Wha'ts your range to push here? Do you put any weight on it being a 6bb UTG raise, or totally discount it because of the shortstack/donk factor?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($49.50)
MP1 ($104.92)
MP2 ($52.70)
MP3 ($154.45)
CO ($59.80)
Button ($47.50)
SB ($49)
Hero ($47.40)
UTG ($15.98)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG raises to $3, 8 folds.

Final Pot: $3.75

#2 - And another unrelated hand. It's a blind war with another short stack. No reliable reads but he seemed tight pre flop (around 20% vpip based on 30 or so hands).

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP3 ($55.70)
CO ($14.55)
Button ($55.30)
Hero ($95.39)
BB ($16.81)
UTG ($76.25)
UTG+1 ($45.15)
MP1 ($50)
MP2 ($49.90)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, 7. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
7 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $1.25, BB calls $1.

Flop: ($3) 8, 9, K (2 players)
Hero bets $2, BB calls $2.

Turn: ($7) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $4, BB raises about $9 (AI), Hero calls $9 or folds?

Lukie is on a distinguished road
hand 1: given no additional info, this is very hard to say. Having an estimated range to go on REALLY helps. Like if I looked at my HUD and this guy was raising 4% of his hands, I'd just muck like you did considering he also raised from UTG. I don't really know what to say other then that I think calling here with any hand kinda sucks. If you think he's just raising TT+ and AK though you should fold. Another option I suppose would be to call and check/raise allin on safe boards. If he's a donkey I'd just push and not think twice about it if he had QQ+. Against an unknown in this game with this stack, that's likely the best play but I'm not really sure.

hand 2: Given the stack sizes, if BB is any sort of a reasonable player here I don't want to raise. I'd just muck. But I think it's ok.

Hand 1 I push all day. Reload if he has you beat. Without a read, folding JJ to a 30bb shorty is a no-no.

Hand 2, flip a coin?

But I probably call in hand 2 because I love to pay off shorties....

Yea, some sort of read would've been key on these hands.

In #1, I've only had about 3k hands at 50nl, but when regular stacks open raise 6bb pre flop I only remember seeing a big pair or AK. But I agree this changes with short stacks. I've seen them do it with all sorts of stuff at lower levels, but this was the first time at 50nl. Next time, All In!!! I think I'll do that with AK and TT+ without any stats or anything.

And yea, #2 does look like a super marginal spot. So I called...he had JQ of hearts and rivered me.
