OK ... been here for about 3 orbits ... Villain 1 was 22 / 0 for about 35 hands and Villain 2 was 89 / 17 for about 40 hands. Villain 1 didn't get involved in too many hands whereas Villain 2 was just a wild man. Given the preflop and flop action, I had V1 on Ax or Kx and V2 on some crap. He seldom had anything good.

At the turn, V1's bet said 2 pair to me (ruled out 88 because I don't think he would have chased the 3rd 8). Still didn't figure on anything for V2. The thought behind the push was to fold V1 and get V2 to call.

How should I have played this?

You say V2 was a wildman. I would raise smaller (like to 7 or 8) and hope that he does something stupid like pushes. Pushing the turn is okay, but there are really no cards that you are particularly afraid of on the river, so most of the time pushing will just allow your opponents to make less mistakes, and you consequently lose out on some value.

Yeah, I don't see a whole lot of value in a push here. You don't really need to protect your hand. None of the action so far indicates that pushing the turn will result in anything other than folds.

Also, I would raise 77 on the button PF. Actually, I would raise it from any position except the blinds.
