okay ive lost more than i ever have today and almost exclusively due to one type of hand: AKs

i always raise this preflop somewhere around 3-6x BB and lost almost every time once the flop hits. is AKs really not that good or is just a much stronger hand to limp in on ?? i'm genuinly confused about this hand and it's costing me HUGE.

you gotta accept that it is a drawing hand. 22 beats it unimproved so you had better improve and learn to recognize when your improvement isn't enough...

so does that mean in most cases it's simply not worth much of a prelfop raise with AKs or even AQ or AK, etc ?

No, its a great hand, deserving of a raise but you can't expect it to win every time unimproved.

Are you getting beat out with better hands (KK, AA) or are you just not catching anything on the flop?

i very rarely catch anything on the flop with AKs it seems.

So if i do whats the best strategy, say i get an A or a K and i have high pair, should i bet right away, what if someone has a set or two pair...

the other thing that's so frustrating is i just dont know what people have, many times i lose because there's large bets and i fold because i dont think my hand holds up against such big raises. thus i never see what they have (and i try to ask but then everybody gets so pissed off and yells)

Thats poker, you deal with incomplete information at best and try to make the best deduction you can.
