Game #61483794: Texas Hold'em No Limit (25/50) - 2004/07/23 - 03:44:46 (EST)
Table "STT1_75835 - 1" Seat 9 is the button.
Seat 1: mike1123 (1423 in chips)
Seat 3: Anth11075 (1741 in chips)
Seat 4: Steve180 (775 in chips)
Seat 6: adam009 (2024 in chips)
Seat 8: TOPCITY (3005 in chips)
Seat 10: vivi66 (1032 in chips)
vivi66: posts small blind 25
mike1123: posts big blind 50
----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to mike1123 [Qd Qc]
Anth11075: calls 50
Steve180: calls 50

adam009: raises to 300 - 6x BB from a guy I haven't seen play many hands. I had a feeling he had AA or KK, but I wanted to make sure by how he played at the flop.

TOPCITY: folds
vivi66: folds
mike1123: calls 250
Anth11075: calls 250
Steve180: folds
----- FLOP ----- [8d 5h 5s]
mike1123: checks
Anth11075: bets 100

adam009: raises to 1724 and is all-in - If he bet a lot less, and I felt he was trying to buy it with AK, I would've been all in. But his play here just backed up what I feared preflop.

mike1123: wow, you got me adam
mike1123: folds
Anth11075: folds
Returned uncalled bets 1624 to adam009
mike1123: I had QQ
----- SHOW DOWN -----
adam009: shows [As Ad] (Two Pairs, Aces and Fives, Eight high)
adam009 collected 1175 from Main pot
----- SUMMARY -----
Total pot 1175 Main pot 1175 | Rake 0
Board [8d 5h 5s]
Seat 1: mike1123 (big blind) folded on the Flop
Seat 3: Anth11075 folded on the Flop
Seat 4: Steve180 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 6: adam009 showed [As Ad] and won (1175) with Two Pairs, Aces and Fives, Eight high
Seat 8: TOPCITY folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 10: vivi66 (small blind) folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Its not so much the laydown at the flop I'm happy about, as its not reraising preflop, and not betting at the flop. I had a gut feeling that screamed that I was dominated here.

I easily could've lost a lot more here, if not all of my stack.

Nice laydown.

I think I would have paid that one off. You won't get rich laying down Queens at a 6 player table without an overcard on the flop.

Its not often I do. But you don't get rich calling with two outers at the flop either. Actually, you go broke really fast.

Note: I finished 3rd after this. Not too bad for a $40 table. I moved up for a game after winning a $20 table.

Was this at PokerStars? I'm guessing, based on the format of the hand history.

It'd be impossible to lay it down if this happened at PartyPoker.

It was at InterPoker.

The guy seemed like a tight player. If a guy did this on the first hand or something, where I had no read on him, I definitely would not have laid this down.

There are ring players I'd think about laying that down for. Then again, I avoid them like the plague!
