I'm playin 1/2 NL on PS... Here is the hand.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?620174

I was fairly certain he had to have had a set... All i remember was he was pretty solid, he had a PFR of like 2%. Is it possible to lay this down? I had a similar situation about 2 hours earlier where the villain had top two pair, but there was less reraising back and forth, and his push happened on the flop. I had bottom set that hand and won it. Any comments are welcome. Thanks.

I've never folded a set on a board that dry and I don't have any plans to do so anytime soon. That might change if I'm starting to play really deep games though.

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
if you 3 bet the flop and he pushes 150bbs deep i think you can get away from it in the 200nl stars fr game.

Almost never
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

it needs to be an unraised pot

he needs to be very passive

the board needs to be very dry

you and him need to be very deep

in the hand in question you say he is solid, but don't really talk about how aggressive/passive he is post-flop or how tight/loose he is preflop. i could see AJ playing the same way or even A4s/A8s.

don't check-raise turn

A month or so ago I was playing a guy like this; I had 33 on J63 rainbow flop and he minraised my flop bet. I proceeded to just call down and as expected was shown 66...I lost like 70bb but not 100.
There isn't really a reason to c/r turn against this guy on this board.

in other words i don't really fold sets on boards like this but occasionally i will seek a cheap (well, less than 100bb) showdown
