This was my 10th hand at the table, so I didn't know what the guy was like... didn't think he would just limp-call on KK preflop though, so at his $6 bet, I put him on a pair of kings, ace or queen kicker. Thought I could get more money out of him if I check-raised after the turn, and I did.

At the turn I had the nuts, so I saw his all-in without further thought, but I think I might have played it too weak off the flop. I just wanted to push him off a flush draw, but if he had anything I wanted him to call or hopefully raise.

Any suggestions?

First hand is fine, second hand you didn't raise enough preflop or on the flop.

The nuts after the flop is actually a 2,3 but you are unlikely to see anyone coming in on that unless they accidentally hit call. I suspect accidental calls of that kind may be more common than most people realise.

I was so concerned with the flush draw that I didn't even see the straight... man...

Yeah, that's what I thought. Just weak in general on that second one.

I wouldn't min reraise the flop with AA in your first hand. You min reraise when you have the nuts and want to lure the guy in. Top pair, even an overpair, is hardly the nuts. You need to play AA aggressive and fast. The more cards you give other players the more chances they have to beat you. I would have at least tripled his bet if not pushed. He would have called, he has top pair, most players think that's a monster. If he sucks you out with two pair, don't worry about it, you got unlucky. The trick is to get as much money in as possible when you know you have the best of it.

Were his chances of hitting a flush really that good though? That's the only thing that he could have been drawing to, assuming he wouldn't stay in with a 6s8s for $3 pre, and that's not good odds. If I appeared to have a weaker hand (like middle pair), I thought he'd be more likely to push hard on the turn, and when a lot of people push hard, it's really hard for them to let go. If that spade had dropped though, I would have been worried and possibly got out of the pot. But that's only going to happen something like what, 1 in 5 times...

Hmmm... definitely something to think about. I think you're right about re-raising him off the flop though, I'll probably play it like that from now on. I have been too passive in my playing in the past, I know this.

Greedo017 is on a distinguished road
first hand on the turn i'd reraise him, probably push depending on my stack, maybe just to 18ish if my stack was big. its in general bad mojo to let people draw. 11% chance of making 2 pair or trips, 16ish% chance of flush scare, lot of straight scare cards, etc. end it when you're ahead 100%

second hand i like. on flop and turn i'dve bet 2 to discourage drawers a little more, and i might've reraised a little less on the turn just because i think more ppl would call 3-4x reraise than basically a push, and then they'd feel committed on the turn and end up ai anyway.
