The first hand sets up the second. I don't normally flat call preflop with KQs (and then I played it poorly which explains why lol) but I had position, raiser was loose and I figured more might join in.
I had no reads on the postflop reraiser so I let this one go and noted to monitor him for a future lookup. Thus the second hand ensued with the same player.
Normally I would dump the second hand readless, but the guy had been way too active so I decided this was as good a time as any to check him out. Standard given the read?

CO shows Js 9c (a pair of Jacks) .

He hesitated an extremely long time before calling - the fact that he called indicates that he must have put me on AQ or a low pair or he was just flat gonna chase 2 pair. Fortunately my hand held.

Final pot: $40.86

Totally agree on the first hand - F'd that one up pretty badly as I was probably good there as well and would have easily called his push in that case.
