I don't know how to post hands here- but I'm going to try to get the info across. Background- this is a 6-handed home game, basically a ring w/ rebuy (chips = real money) but the blinds do increase by the hour.
Hero is TAG, Villian is toughest LAG at table. Blinds .20/.40

Villian is SB $18
Hero is on cutoff seat $13

Hero is dealt KdKh

UTG- fold
MP1- limp / call
Hero- raises to $1.00
Button- fold
SB (Villain) - call
BB - call

-$4 in pot-

flop: Jc 10s 5h

SB / Villain - leads $3.5
BB- fold
MP1- fold
Hero - thinks, calls $3.5

turn: Jc 10s 5h 4d

Villain- bets $4.5
Hero- thinks, thinks (for very long time) ...

Betting Pattern- Villain bets with weak holdings, prob. wouldn't come out so strong on flop with JTo, especially from EP. (he likes to trap)

Tells: Villain talks a lot with good hands, acts distraught and confused over opponent; this time, silence.

Hero - puts villain on AJo and calls, figuring the $4 All-in raise would be called anyway.

River: Js
Villain: Puts me all-in

Hero Folds.
Villain shows J9o

Comments? Was is a mistake to go after a huge pot with a mere overpair, even if i figured I was ahead?

raise the flop. It would tell him that you don't care if he does have a J because you have it beat.

Flop call is fine, raise is fine too, depends on opponent and your image. Push the turn everytime and call river as played.
