Thank you Fnord! The all-in river "bluff" worked very well for me last night, I got at least two really terrible calls.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (2 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

BB ($28.50)
Hero ($57.95)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 5. Hero posts a blind of $0.50.
BB calls $0.25, Hero (poster) checks.

Flop: ($1) 9, 8, 4 (2 players)
BB bets $1, Hero calls $1.

Turn: ($5) 6 (2 players)
BB bets $2, Hero calls $2.

River: ($15) K (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $25, BB calls $25 (All-In).

Final Pot: $57

Tourney poker post-flop has a fairly different flavor to it though...

In tournaments you usually don't get to the river without someone being pot committed already.

I like over-betting flops and turns too.

HAMMER!

100NL

Lukie raises from the CO to $4. He's got a couple pretty cards or is just feeling frisky. Anyway, he plays a few more hands than I do.

I cold-donk it from the BN with a couple cards because I think I'm getting the best of it taking a flop with Lukie's hand.

Blinds chicken out.

Flop is Q J 7

Lukie Bets $5 because he still has 2 cards and I might feel like folding.
I raise to $30 because I don't feel like folding....

usually good semi bluffs followed by a "bluff" make it look like a real bluff against any kind of thinking player

also going all-in on 599xx flops on the river when you hold pocket 5s isn't such a bad idea either, that 9 won't fold most of the time
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

I go to flop with JdTd (button) with other 4 opponents, flopped flushdraw with Ad on board, completed flush on turn. UTG bets 1/3 blocking bet, CO calls and I slam all-In (70BB to 30BB pot). UTG mucks instantly, CO thinks, thinks, thinks and....calls his entire stack - with TT pocket underpair!

Those lemmings will not call small v-bets but are suckers for big pushes and I'd like to know WHY do they call such a sick bets and fold to ordinary v-bets?

"You're bluffing buddy, CALL, oh shit you have a hand... REBUY!"
"How could I call that bet? How could you MAKE that bet? It's poker not solitaire. " - that Gus Bronson guy
