Wrestler X has been buying a lot of pots playing very loose making money from weak players. Im just curious would it have been a good move to just flat call him on the flop and call the other bets regardless of the cards that fell? He was up about two rebuys but his raising told me he wanted to push it. Was I a little to overaggresive?

What are you really scared of on the flop that you are going to re-raise Wrestler? There is no hand he could possibly have that beats you on the flop, and the only remotely scary turn card would be a j, q, or A....and even then, he would have to hold two cards in his hand to make a straight.
Just trying to see what your thinking was that you would re-raise him, instead of smooth calling and letting him lead out again on the turn, especially with such a non-scary flop board.
That might be a good piece of info to have.

if you dont slowplay top set on an almost drawless board then what do you slow play? you shoulda waited like 10 seconds and called and checked the turn to him like you were on a draw

Based on what you said of wrestler, aka that he was very aggressive and was trying to pickup a lot of uncontested pots, I can probably break the flop action down from Wrestler's POV:
Quote:
*** FLOP *** [4c Ks Th]
WrestlerX: checks
Unrelenting: bets $5
|
Wrestler: "Ah, the little punk is trying a continuation bet on me...I'll show him whose table this is...."
Quote:
|
WrestlerX: raises $7 to $12
|
Wrestler: "Tee-hee, yet another pot for me against these passive panies!"
Quote:
|
Unrelenting: raises $8.25 to $20.25
|
Wrestler: "Holy crap, a raise! The pansy must have something this time....Guess my ace high is no good!"

He claimed to have AK after I showed, if I had known I definatley would have slowplayed it. Would it be logical to put a player of this style on JQ? To be honest this is the only thing I was worried about. I figured the hands I dominated ( AA or lower trip ) would call and the hands that could beat me ( jq ) would fold.

i dont get what you're saying...you cant just pick one hand, the only hand that he could possibly have that would put him on a draw, and just assume he has that hand and be scared of it. thats like saying everytime you hit middle set you fold to an all in because you are scared of a higher set. theres 50 possible hands he could have, why automatically think he might have QJ and put him on it? you're playing way too scared.

No, it would not be logical, based upon your description of wrestler. An agressive player who loves picking up pots uncontested could have any range of hands that he could be trying to bluff you off the pot with.
Also, unless you have a great read on this individual, people usually call with draws, not raise.... so by his raising, he is saying that he is not on a straight draw, but has a made hand/is trying to bluff you.
People will occassionally raise with draws in an attempt to disguise their hand/buy a free card, but not usually--at least not on .10-.25 NL--they're not that smart.

Welcome to the forum. We played the same table over the weekend although I think you were on a bunch of them.
Is he on a draw or is he bluffing or does he have a hand? From the pre-flop raises it looks like AK could be a possibility and that's probably what I would've put him on. If that's the case then I think you could've given him one more card and extracted perhaps a bet more from him. With any luck he would've drawn an A and its de-stack time.

I think this is a small case of tilt. He was stealing a lot of pots and you wanted to show him he couldn't do it to you...not this time. I might have done the same but it is not the best way to take his $.
