LAgg was pretty much running the table. Raising to around $2-$3 on any playable hand. An earlier hand he raised to about that much with pocket Kings. Between pots taken down on bets and a couple lucky hits he was up big. Then he busts out the $5 pre-flop raise from out of position. Hmmm... what would he bet like that with?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (10 handed) converter

UTG ($14)
UTG+1 ($15.45)
UTG+2 (LAgg) ($56.45)
MP1 ($28.55)
MP2 ($30.10)
MP3 ($35.95)
CO ($11.70)
Button ($28.15)
SB ($24.50)
Fnord ($20)

Preflop: Fnord is BB with Td, Tc.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 (LAgg) raises to $5, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, Fnord raises to $20 (All-In), UTG+2 (LAgg) calls $15.

Flop: ($40.25) Qs, Jc, Kc (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: ($40.25) 8c (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($40.25) As (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $40.25

Results in white below:
Fnord shows Td Tc (straight, ace high).
LAgg shows 8d 8h (three of a kind, eights).
Outcome: Fnord wins $40.25.

nice play on your part - i would have put hom on AA, or at least KK, AK. especially considering his position.

good read. what tipped you off that he didn't have a monster?

Frequency and size of his raises. If he had AA or KK he would have (and had) made a more callable bet. Probably with QQ and AK too.

So I put him on JJ - 77 or garbage.
