Is this really happening to me?

I planned to go All-in with my first big hand. Figured I would be called.
It didn't work!
Bad play?

Eh... it's a coinflip, you'll win some and lose some. Technically you're a slight dog, but not enough that it makes a difference. I don't know that it would have made a bit of difference if it had played out normally; you would have flopped that top pair top kicker and soon enough put all your money in anyway.

First of all, don't be sitting at a NL table with $7 when the max buyin is $25.

Second, what sense is there in going nuclear with AK like this? Put in a reasonable raise and play the flop.

You're only 45% to win this hand. I don't think the blind money makes up for the rake plus what you're losing here, even if you're short stacked.
TylerK: its just gambling if i want to worry about money i'll go to work lol

Why is this even a post?

You pushed with a small stack, a good hand called you and beat you.

Hrmm....

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?

I agree with Tyler.

Why push in this scenario? What was your thinking behind having to push with the first good hand you got dealt?
If you put all your faith in the river, you are up shit's creek

That plan, of course, is a long-term plan and requires a big bankroll.
