So I'm down. I mean, really down. I was down to about $8 on the roll, as a result of a lot of bad playing.
Tonight I had to win it back. Solid poker all night. And I did great.
Turned the $8 into $10 multitabling two $.05/$.10 tables. Lost one, was down to $6. Turned that into $12.
Two hours later I was at $28. Note that the maximum buy-in for these tables is $10. Class is coming in less than 20 minutes. One more round of blinds and I'll quit. I'm sure this one is going to take me out and I'm going to lose money, but I've been playing solid all night, why not?

Did I play that right? I went all in, I knew he had the ace and that's all because I'd been playing this guy for a good 2 or 3 hours. I had him beaten on the turn, and I knew it. I went all in. He called with the weaker hand. He rivers an ace, giving him a stronger full house. What gives? Is this just a bad beat? I lost my winnings and left with a net gain of $2.40 for the whole night.
The whole thing reeks of bad beat, right? My EV should have been really positive in that situation, right? Or did I play this all wrong?
Also, for future reference, when is it proper to stand up and sit down somewhere else? My $28 chipcount at this $10 maximum buy-in was awesome but now I wish I had left and sat down with $10 so I couldn't have lost so much. I found myself wondering during the game if I should get up because I had too much money on me. I'd have between $5 and $8 more, which is a considerable amount considering where I started from.

It says I should call a small bet (and in this guys case, that was a small bet). I was also in position...
But minus preflop, I did play it correctly. He's got about a 13 - 15% chance of drawing that ace, so I had a nice comfortable 80% cushion to make that all-in with. I just keep trying to reassure myself I played it right. I'm lucky he didn't pull A-10, but my read was good.
But this puts me all behind. I'm going to lose the rest of my money. Granted, I only had a $30 bankroll to begin with, but damn. Maybe it's time to dip into my bodog fund from my consistant SnGs.
So my other question at the end of my original post: When is it the right time to stand up from a single table? Once I hit double the maximum buy-in? That would have saved me some money on this.

the hand was QTs & i fold QJs as well. 4bb's is not really a small raise. also, there's no reason to leave a table unless the game is no longer favorable to you (fish are gone/better players/etc.) saying that if you had left then this wouldn't have happened to you is being results oriented. this is bad. you play correct poker no matter what the result is.
