Your right he was probably on a flush draw and he tried throwing out a weak bluff attempt that didn't work. I don't blame him for folding if he was on a flush draw, he knew he was beat.

Well...if he had say Queen weak kicker and assumed he was beat, that's where you pay off the 2.55 into a huge pot. However, if I was on a flush draw ( I don't chase like that, either push or fold, no purpose of leaving a mere 2.55 left. That is the type of hand, where if I feel like am I willing to waste most of my money a draw, I'll just push all in on the flop, try to get a fold. If I don't get a fold- Hey, I still have muchos outs.
