Im up about $500. after being up $2500. I dont understand???????? Play has been almost the same both halves of the month. I dont mind ups and down but mine are never ups and downs, they are Mts. and the bottom of the ocean.

I dont understand why you couldnt let the trip aces go. You played the pot small and when the other players made straights they came after the money. With a big raise and an even bigger reraise I could have laid trips down there real easy.

REMEMBER THIS FOREVER

When you play small early, you must be willing to fold. The tell-tell sign is when you have a big bet and huge reraise.

This is similiar to having QQ and facing a preflop raise (say 7 or 8 times BB) and a reraise (say 20 times the BB), You fold QQ because you are up against at least KK and probably AA (and sometimes both) Put in simple tems, you too far behind to win this hand without getting lucky.

You have to put one of em on the straight.

Just my opinion (and I'm probably wrong). 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Yeah, whenever people can't seem to get there money in fast enough in a relatively small pot with three cards ten or higher out there, most likely someone's got the broadway nut straight. I think you made a few key mistakes in this hand: 1. Why limp AA behind two other limpers? I will limp AA first in almost every time hoping to reraise, but with limpers in front of me I will just about always raise. 2. With the nuts, I think you should raise the flop big here (pot size) and hope someone made two-pair or set and wants to go broke with you. I don't think you should risk giving a free card for the other two a chance to hit a gutshot, especially if you're going to not be able to get away from the hand when a possibly straight comes and there's a lot of action.

you can never lay this down for following reasons:

10 outs for nuts in 3 way pot

+ possibility of 2 pair/lower set + semibluff draws.

so at worst, you break even with this hand in the long run + those possibility make this a EV+ play not to lay it down...

Not neccessarily. I think that after the flop, the optimum play would have been to smooth call the $20 raise on the turn, and then folding to the all-in reraise and call (I'd be pretty sure one of them had a straight at the point, and would still not be getting good enough pot odds with 10 outs. But yeah, top set without a flush draw or 4 to a straight on board is tough to get away from.
