Hand 1
I don't mind the way you played this, you have a strong hand but the kicker is weak and although you want to make money off it, I would be happy to take down a pot this size with it.
Saying that though if I was in the game I probably would have gone nuts and tried to cap the river as SB is all in so the only person to worry about is Mr Lagg.
Hand 2 I seriously doubt he has slow played a FH and it more like he has made a smaller flush. Although the straight flush is present I would be happy to 3 bet the river.
But you already know this hence the Subject

Both hands i would bet, the first hand i would be more cautious because a higher kicker would get you, but a full house or quads is so unlikely on the 2nd hand that i would bet it every time

I would have bet both of them as well and just called any reraise, and said "nh" if I lost. Getting more in the pot with both hands would be worth the risk of second best. Your position really sucked on both and having multiple callers didnt help. I think it would have been easier heads-up, of course.
