Ok, here is how i was booted out of the Paradise poker $1m Freeroll.

I was trying to play tight solid poker and it was working up to a point. I was letting the maniacs bust themselves on All in calls on 3, 5 unsuited and whatnot, thinking i was doing ok, but just before the hour i was getting killed on the Blinds.

I was chips weak at the table and knew i had to play a hand pretty soon, so i took a risk on this.

What do you think, should i have waited a bit longer?

Yes. You already have 150 chips (1/6th of your stack) invested. There's two limpers + the small blind. Push the remaining 5x BB you have, hope for it to fold around...But even if it doesn't you are probably ahead or it's a flip. People tend to raise and steal with these chip stacks compared to blind stacks at this point in the tournament. 99 is definitely good from the BB to steal with against two limpers, or to race against 1 of them if you get a call. Push push push. Definitely don't play after the flop with two over's if you decided to just check pre flop...

The money in the pot (blinds + limpers) is more than half your stack, why would you not want to win that?

Once you go beyond the flop, no push will make anyone with anything fold, pushing preflop was the best option... at < 10BB, you should think about all-in or fold mode

As everyone else said, you should push preflop, but let's assume that you chose not to.

With two overs, you bet, leading to a not just a call from the other person, but a raise; you clearly have to fold here. Moreover, if you're going to represent the ace, you need to bet bigger. None of your bets here are consistent with an ace that beats A7.

And even if you called to see the turn just for information, when he bets 450 at you, you need to see that you're beat.

So contrary to playing too tight, you played much too loose postflop.

yeah i hear ya, i had pretty much given up by then, folding there would have left me something like 400 chips, and i was so annoyed at myself getting into that position that i pushed it all in hoping the other guy was just trying to bully me out of it, considering he was holding the biggest stack.

I just thank god it was free to enter! ha ha

Sounds like even if you had pushed preflop this guy with the most chips woulda called and won anyway.

At least if he did that, he would have gone in with the best hand. The way he played it the majority of his chips went in after he was beaten. Same results, but one way you feel better about yourself and know that if you keep up the good work you will win in the future and all that nonsense .
