So I venture out of my realm into 200NL, because I'm a fool and want to overextend my bankroll like that.

I'm going to play until the blind gets around, but I get AK utg+1.

Since it's my first big 200NL hand, what do you guys think? I felt I was giving a weak-tight impression, so I reraised the flop. Obviously I was looking good on the turn, you like the push? And then, the two outer. :\

I think I'll quit. I can only beat 25NL.

I think I'll go pout, sulk, moan.

I would have bet about 2/3 of the pot on the flop if I were going to continuation bet at all with a flop like that. When he raises you, just lay it down. You are beat.

I think that's a good flop for a continuation bet. Are you saying I should beware a six? I usually am glad on a low-paired flop.

I didn't really think I was ahead, I was representing. All of my continuation bets had been minraised and then I folded up until this point...at some point you have to make a stand, right?

Folding is taking a stand too, and you look smarter too.

No one wants to look dumb.

This is a ring game, I promise the blinds won't get any higher, so you can wait for a better situation to get your chips in the middle.

But I didn't get my chips into the middle until I was a huge favorite.

All I did was reraise a flop minraise. Isn't this a rather standard play?

Really, in retrospect, this post was a whine. I was an incredible favorite on the turn.

Lastly, I don't care much about looking dumb, if I'm making money. And folding wasn't the stand I meant.

Don't judge it in hindsight. If the guy had a 6 you got your chips in the middle when you were behind.

Fold the flop raise.

I don't understand the flop 3-bet.

Way to build a bigger pot out of position drawing thin, I guess.

ok. you got 28.5% of your stack into the pot when you had a 26.5% chance of beating any lower pair, and that's assuming you see both the turn and river. your odds of hitting your hand on the turn are like 13%. a 6 clusterfucks you. if you want to continue repping aa/kk, then you can forget your odds of hitting, but its risky, the guy isn't exactly oozing weakness.

"All I did was reraise a flop minraise. Isn't this a rather standard play?"

not when you bet the pot and have ace high.

I honestly have no idea why you pushed in that situation. You have no idea where you stand in the hand. You have to assume he had a 6 when he raised you and then called your reraise on the flop. Yeah, you can say it was a bad beat, but you pushed when you shouldn't have pushed. I don't think it was a well played hand, but we all have those. Hell, he could have had pocket8's. There were many ways you could have been beaten on that hand.
