At lower stakes stonecold bluffing is generally a bad idea, as most people will call you down their pairs just to see what you have. However at 200 NL things change..
Noticing the players at the 200 NL table I was playing at weren't paying off ANYONE's big cards (much to my frustration, since I gotten my sets folded to three times in a row), I decided to get some revenge...
This guy bet like he had a 7 with weakness written all over it, so I decided to rep the overpair and push him off the pot. His blocking bet on the turn failed miserably. Check it out.. well done?

A few things to keep in mind when bluffing:
* fewer players means fewer chances someone has a good enough hand to call with
* early position is better because it is cheaper to start a bet than to raise a bet and because expectations are higher for early position
* its easier to bluff a big stack than a small stack since a small stack may pot commit
* if you think your opponent is on a draw, it pays to bluff in case he misses his draw (most of the time) - stay with him when he calls and if you think he missed, bet hard
* if you represent overcards with a PFR you can take advantage of scare cards such as Q, K, A.
* if you see resistance (a raise) or you think he's made a hand and is defending it, fold
The hand you showed above is a good example. Here I would say he's got a small pair and has failed to defend his hand. You represented overcards nicely and pushed him off when the K showed. The odds of a T, J, K, Q or A showing on the turn or the river are very good (better than 70%).

Very well done, spinoli. He may not have had a 7, for that matter - it looks to me like perhaps a middle pocket pair, 8s through 10s, and the king was a scare card for him. Even if he didn't put you on a high pair, he has to give you respect for AK or KQ.

So how much do you put up to steal the blinds?
I'm assuming that it is more than the blinds themselves - so why risk so much for so little?
Table image?

Wouldnt you be risking be reraised? I've noticed at the 400+ NL tables that people get in the habit of trying to steal the blinds from the button, often provoking a large big/small blind reraise which the blind stealer must fold to. Sometimes the reraiser even shows garbage, just because he/she knew the button was full of it. I'm not sure if this works very often though, since the button DOES have position on the big/small blind raiser.

There's no risk for you fellas. It only has to work about half the time to be profitable. If the table is calling too much, change your stategy. There is truely no risk. And even when you get called from the blinds, you're the aggressor and have position. So things are lookin good.

You can do that, but it's not as profitable. I also usually do it from the CO.
