I'd put him in the first hand on either AA or KK. Why re-re-raise with JJ? Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. If you are doing it though, why not make the raise something meaningful? At that point an extra 30 is chump change and has very little value.

Given the pf action and the huge difference in his play when the A came, I would actually think of laying this down here. I probably wouldn't, but I would think about it. Would also have reraised big on the flop though, meaning that I'd be pot committed before the A came, meaning that ultimately, I'd lose more here than you.

Second hand would likely play out exactly the same with many decent players. No issues, save perhaps the preflop call and that is easily justifiable given your stack and the way a lot of UB SnG players play at the lower levels.

the small reraises with the jacks wasnt really for putting more money in the pot, as it was to give the other players more chances for betting. Normally with 3 ppl in preflop the guy with the aces keeps raising.

Aint this how it usually works ?

It can be...not necessarily though. Assuming he's playing "right" then sure - he wants to end up heads up. But assuming that your opponents will always play right ends up making you play wrong. The thing about reraising bigger is it gives you more information. Any hand that was calling the original raise was calling both reraises as well, so you learned nothing really...

Having him on AK/AQ isn't unreasonable here. I don't know what you could have done, you looked stuck to me: if you raise harder, as Jeffrey suggests (and is probably right), you may have well forced him all in right there on the flop, if that is what he was looking for. Would you have called his all-in on the flop if your bet had been large enough to make that his decision? If so, you would have called and then got the bad news on the turn anyway, given that you'd put him on TPTK. Looks like lose/lose for you here.

i wouldnt re-reraise with JJ either. and if you flop a set especially on a scary board like that, re-raise big on the flop, his bet is 120 - put out 400 or something, if by some weird chance he's got a str8 he'll likely push.

seems many people lose sets because they dont bet hard when they should. you had him.

That little rat bastard got his lucky turn card. If you can find a way to repeat your set vs his aces a million times then you will owe me about $15 million dollars - but thats ok because you should have about $50 million left to spend on airplanes, islands and aids infested prositutes.

the thing is, I was pretty sure we were gonna end all in anywa, and there were NO way i was gonna fold this hand. So I was gonna let him bet into it till the river then push.

But as some of u said, a bigger preflop raise might have reveiled hes aces by an all in wich would have made me fold. A big reraise on the flop though would just have made him go all in. Wich I of course woulda called.

One of those hands u just cant let go, especially in a SNG.

Flop (board: 8c Jc 9s):

gamegran bets 120. Kiriath calls. 4Point9Baby
folds.

Here's what I don't get, and maybe I'm thinking something horribly wrong here...

...but you've just flopped high set. I might be worried if someone was on suited clubs, or AT, but I'd be making him pay A LOT MORE than 120 chips to be seeing a turn card.

You slowplayed a set and wondered how it go busted?
