I am going through a bad downswing right now. Please critique my play on all streets. In retrospect, I know the flop raise is waaaaaaaaay too weak - I think I've been timid of late, probably expecting that someone may have made 2pr already .

Table is loose and has the slight hint of fish.

REads: I have CO as a strange player. Not really standout except he uses minbets / minraises a fair bit.

UTG+1 hasn't played many hands; he minraised QQ on an earlier hand and couldn't drop it (as an overpair)

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($59.80)
MP1 ($49.50)
MP2 ($18.20)
MP3 ($84.40)
CO ($40.95)
Hero ($57.80)
SB ($42.15)
BB ($50)
UTG ($21.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K, K.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, MP1 calls $0.50, 2 folds, CO calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.5, SB calls $2.25, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $2, MP1 folds, CO calls $2.

Flop: ($11) T, J, 4 (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, CO bets $1.5, Hero raises to $5, SB folds, UTG+1 calls $5, CO calls $3.50.

Turn: ($26) 9 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, CO checks, Hero checks.

River: ($26) 4 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, CO bets $6.5, Hero calls ....?

Raise more preflop, raise more on the flop, bet the turn, call the river. Why are you playing scared poker?
My sig is too much for you to handle.

That really helps.

Lately I've been pushed off a lot of marginal hands. I didn't bet the turn cuz I was afraid of filled draws - I guess the solution in that case is to BET and reevaluate on the rivah.

Thanks.

I think 3.5 for pfr (4-5bb +1bb per limp)...I hate big pairs multiway.

But with 4 to the flop, I think you need to thin the field and protect/get value from your hand more...maybe 12 for a flop raise.

I like the check turn, call river line though, unless you are ready to stack off by betting the turn. It's not so much that the KQ draw got there as it is that the more likely hands that already had you beat on the flop will probably min raise a turn bet and that almost comitts you, whereas check behind gets many worse hands to bet the river, or you can bet for value if they check again. And betting purely to "see where you stand" is -ev, you need other reasons such as to protect or get value or bluff.
