Hi guys. I've been playing 50nl for sometime now and 100nl recently, making around 6 k or so combined, while playing 1 table and sometimes 2. Recently, i've been playing more tables, around 6, at 50nl, doing pretty well.
I have a few questions in regards to switching from single-table play to multi-table play. Do the ups and downs of poker become less prominent, meaning do you win or lose at a more consistent rate because each table is independent of one another? Does one's bb/100 avg. drop much?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as well as any advice.

ups and downs are equally as prominent, but because you get through more hands more quickly, the variance evens out faster (timewise).
Your winrate may decrease /100 hands as you add more tables, you need to figure out when the $ lost/100 hands by adding extra tables stop being compensated for by the extra winnings /hr from playing more hands. For me the magic number seems to be about 13 tables.
also, you're a 50bb player playing non-standard lines and winning. That much we know. Ask yourself how much of your play is dependent of your reads on villains. Also ask yourself how much time you need to make decisions. Then ask yourself how much more effort it will take to focus over more tables.
I imagine you'll be fine up to 6 tables, above that you should find out by experimentation at lower stakes - fire up 10 tables of 25nl and see how that goes, etc.

If your bb/100 drops which it will if you add more tables, you will have bigger downswings and longer breakeven stretches. However, the fact that you are playing so many more hands means that these stretches will actually be shorter in terms of time and the more hands you play, the closer you will be to your actual winrate so it kind of cancels itself out. If you just experiment and play as many tables as you are comfortable with then you'll probably be close to maximising your $/hr which is what it's all about really.

Full Ring NLHE has too few playable hands to play one table because the ante isn't big enough. They really should consider adding a button ante to make it interesting.
