I'm starting to really enjoy hitting sets for the first time in awhile.
Can't believe a spade comes at the river... that pissed me off pretty good. You like these bets?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

SB ($26.25)
BB ($24.80)
UTG ($32.55)
UTG+1 ($18.45)
MP1 ($24.75)
MP2 ($24.75)
Hero ($25)
CO ($28.85)
Button ($25)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 2, 2. Hero posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.25, UTG+1 raises to $0.5, 2 folds, Hero (poster) calls $0.25, 4 folds, UTG calls $0.25.

Flop: ($1.85) 9, 2, 3 (3 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $0.5, Hero raises to $2, UTG raises to $4.5, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls $2.50.

Turn: ($11.35) 6 (2 players)
UTG bets $3.25, Hero raises to $20,
UTG
(thinks for a long long time, and I get happier every second he thinks)
calls $16.75.

River: ($51.35) 7 (2 players)

Final Pot: $51.35

Results in white below:
UTG has Ah 9c (one pair, nines).
Hero has 2h 2d (three of a kind, twos).
Outcome: Hero wins $51.35.

I don't get why you don't make bets like your turn push when your hand figures to be in better shape.

I usually just go to war on the flop, he told us he likes his hand, we have a set, lets gamble!

As played, I call the turn and fold to a big river bet.

Almost exactly as in my other thread: I figure him for TP. ergo, my hand is in great shape on the turn (note: if TP, it's impossible that he's got the flush already).

I know 25NL loves TP, but I can't remember the last time such a flop bet got called by TP. There's definitely an art to this...

4-bet the flop while he's still in a betting mood and hope he takes it personally.
