I bet the maximum pre-flop as this is a PL game. I bet $8 into $11 on the flop - is this not enough? I dont know what additional hands he folds to a bigger bet. That said, I'm not sure I should bet here at all.

In the BB i would not have bet out with this hand preflop. CO could have been stealing but i would have let him take the blinds or just called to see the flop. You must assume he had a hand as he called and now the position is difficult first to go on a connected flop that you missed. If you check he will bet hand or not. Bet out and you are potentially playing a big pot without a hand.
Check fold and next time think harder about raising when you will be out of position post flop in a big flop and a likely missed hand. I would only make this move with AA KK QQ.

villain being a 2p2 poster, maybe a check-raise is best as this is a good flop for him to 3bet flop you, where you'll fold everything but high pair.
BTW, I think you played fine by 3betting PF.

Bet flop/push turn, or check/fold every street unimproved. Optimal depends on perceived images and ranges. I prefer the nittier route because it's good enough, I don't really know which is better, and variance tilts me.
Villian is very unlikely to bet us off the best hand, and if he plays vs 3bets correctly, which he's probably close to doing, then he's got us beat. This board is particularly garbage for us when bluffing since he may call one street with 77 or 66 since he knows that we will cbet unimproved overs from time to time, yet not felt them.
I don't like a c/r due to him checking high cards behind a bunch. Weaker overpairs look better vs crais too since villian is more likely to think we're bluffing. I made the mistake of donating my QQ to AA when all I beat was a bluff once. Once.
