Can anyone explain or go into more depth on what I can put him on here? Or how I could figure out how to put him on a hand here.

Lead for at least 3/4 pot (full pot would be better here) or check and see what happens. I hate the flop 3-bet. If you're willing to go to the felt here, I would CR AI a safe turn, but that's besides the point because as Fnord said, you're rarely good here.

Once he calls a 3bet, unless he is a COMPLETE asswipe, he has a big pair, a set, or two high clubs. Thus, the third club on the turn solidifies the fact that you're drawing to two outs.

*laugh*

With no read or reason to think he's terrible, you lose this hand a lot. However, it's easy to under-estimate how often you are good here once you learn to play tight poker. In any case, that's poker baby. Pay more attention and move onto the next hand.

Thing is, Zach, even at $25NL this will lose you LOTS of money. He is telling you, repeatedly, that he has a strong hand. He *could* mean A7, feasibly, but a lower PP isn't happening unless it setted for him (and microlimit donks just don't ever raise PF with a low PP). I would have probably put him on TT-QQ, I think, but the key thing here is that he re-raises you on both the flop and, even after your re-re-raise, on the turn. In a novice player this will almost always mean a better hand.

You have put 2/3 of a stack in here with a mid pair on a co-ordinated board against a villain showing a LOT of strength. It'll usually end in tears.
