He got all the money in when he was ahead.
Also, he knew not to rep that flop becuase he put his opponent on matching high cards.
Fish?

...he reraised for a quarter of his stack with 42o preflop. I'm going to go ahead and say, um, yes. Maybe that's a nice table image move at some levels but at Party $25 NL, it's completely useless, and I'd be willing to bet he's being tricky out of silliness, not according to any advanced tactical plan.

Or boredom.
But if you put your opponents on high cards you can win a decent pot where they don't pair on the flop by doing that fun preflop move. And it's 6max, which makes it more excusable becuase 6max is a party.

I think what´s really fishy is johnny slowplaying his TPTK. His weak betting makes any draw correct and what flop exactly was he hoping for with AK? Him being afraid of the other guy holding AA or KK is not a reasonable scenario, as he is willing to go AI on the turn!

He was afraid. But was probably passive enough to call down any sort of betting.

looks like a slow-play gone wrong to me, the pf raise with 42 (unless it was a tight table and he was piucking up blinds after blinds, this would still have to work 75% of the time to break even) was terrible, the call was probably mandatory to save face (who raises 3 then folds to a 3 call??). He got a small piece of the flop was allowed to see the 1/13th of the pot???).
and hit two pair to win...
As said he might have been trying to set up his good hand by winning the blinds and showing the 42o...
