I had been going quite strong, and the table seemed to be running scared of me, often folding on my preflop raises and downplaying their good hands towards me, so I decided to try a little bluff.

I'm on the button, my hand: 7c 3s

I raise $0.50 (my standard). One guy calls.

Flop: Kc Jh 2h

check/check

Turn: 3d

Opp checks. I raise $1. Opp calls $1. Damn.

River: 7d

Opp raises $1.70. I call.

Jackvance wins with 2 pair, opponent mucked (didn't look to be honest, was kinda laughing).

No need to be trying stuff like that, but if you want to then at least wait for a hand with some outs.
Something like 56s or 75s would be much better.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

Ya, my favorite hand to do this with is T8s. Its almost like you are playing omaha with AKT8. If an A or K flops, you can cont bet and take it down. If a T or an 8 (or a 97/9J) flops you have a legitimate hand, but the opps aren't gonna believe you and call you down with their 55.

Glad I'm not the only one who does this.

playing 2/4 limit over the weekend. Had been hitting everything under the sun and folks were starting to run and hide to my raises.

Raised in MP with 72s. got 2 callers. ( oops )

flop gives me 2 pair " yee ha" with a straight draw board.

I bet, get a call and a raise and I call the raise.

turn fills up the draw even more. I check, check and LP bets,we both call.

River bring another 7 "bingo" I check, check LP bets, I raise MP folds and me and LP cap it.

He went ballisic. called me every name in the book yelling how could you call a raise with 72. The other guy says ...no he didn't call your raise he raised preflop...... Guy sat out then left.

Can't take a joke I guess.

I know this was really a bad play and don't do it that often, I just like to do it once in awhile especially if there are a couple of "experts" at the table.

Min-raise river. That way you really look like an idiot.

Bet river because of the guy stuck in between. Then reply "I play bad."
