Renton will become famous soon enough
I've switched possibly permanently back to full ring, after a long struggle with six max. I just seem to do better here. Here are my numbers since the start of the month (yes, 25k hands in a week gg me).

So i seem to be doing well. I'd like to maintain or improve these numbers long term, because if i can, at the rate i play i could be making 12-15k a month at 1/2, which would own.

Im 12 tabling mostly, and I don't really have trouble keeping up, so one thing i want to work on is loosening up. With my current vpip at 14, im having trouble opening up much more. If I raise any more hands that I am, i am being put in shitty spots by the many shortstackers in the full tilt 1/2 game.

So regarding shortstacks, here's a hypothetical question:

If a nitty/weak player open limps in latish position (he has a full stack) and it folds to me on the button, what range of hands can I profitably raise if theres another nitty player in the small blind and an unknown 25bb stack in the BB? What if im on the CO instead and the blinds are both nitty 100bb stacks, but the button is an unknown 25bb stack? Does that change anything at all? As of now, im raising something like 66+ AT+ KJ+. Is that too tight?

Another spot I feel im doing pretty well in but need work with is folding second best hands. Full tilt 1/2 full ring is pretty nitty game, so I think it lends itself to many opportunities to make big laydowns for a massive edge on the field.

A couple of line checks in this area:

1.UpTheMariners is 14/7/3.5 for a very small sample and no history. mojovy just sat down and is unknown.

Another spot: AK in threebet pots.

Same song every time, 15/8 ish villain raises to 7 in middle position. Folds to me in the small blind with AK and I make it 24. Flop is something like 479. I bet 38 into the 50 pot and he calls or shoves.

Am I supposed to assume a) that villain has TT+ here almost every time and b) that he's always felting it? Am I supposed to check here without reads? What if im in position? Does that make it an even easier check?

Thats all I can think of at this very moment. I will add to this tomorrow maybe.

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
do you always need to reraise AK oop.
Do you always need to c-bet.
If you felt AK oop and he calls down with a small overpair, how big is his mistake versus your level of aggression in the same spot with a bigger pp? (eg he calls down with less than queens)
I dont always assume players openeing in mp always have a pp either, medium sc's are also possible, but thats the question, how bad is his calldown versus your range.

add sc's to the list, down as far as 54. If they are nits then it doesn't change from CO to button IMO.

13.56% isn't very big, but if you're getting paid, then why bother changing. Also, if you change too much, wouldn't that make 12 tabling more diffucult?

ahiltz the question isn't of the nits, but of the 25bb shorty. I would think raising 45 after limpers with him in the BB would be a mistake, no?

Raising 45 would be no worse then raising 78 or 89 if you think he's super tight and will only play with great hands.
I guess it comes down to the feel of the table. Is it a limp and stack kinda table or a raise and cbet takes it down table?

The shorties I have been running into are either complete nits or aggro shitheads. Not much inbetween. So, if you are worried about bb's aggression level, wait a round to determine if sc's are something that can be raised or limped, or wait for a really good hand. Seems like a weak line though.

I'm in the green on both the SB and BB, but in the red on others. I guess choose better places to defend blinds.

i play a lot in this game (godblessmnymkr) and play about 24/9.
i feel like i can raise/limp with any decent sooted connects from mp+4- button.
the 1/2 on FT is pretty passive and i think there's value in playing marginal hands in LP.

i think its too tight and im raising here with a lot of different hands.
i often find too, that the blinds or late limpers will call my PFR, and then check call with a pair or something, and then let me get there on the river after i check behind and will pay me off.

hand 1)
re raise to 90. i dont see how you can fold to a re raise from either player here.

hand 2)
woud he lead out here with 444? i think i play it exactly as you did and call the river.

hand 3)
looks like you have to fold here against a big stack with out a read.

i think this is just part of the game. i find when you're re raising at this level, people will just give you credit for having a big pair and fold to the c bet on the flop.
