I think you could get more from bet/3bet or check/raise, unless you overbet real often.

i posted a hand in my blog where i pushed $1500 into a $100 pot with 86 on a 23457 board and got called by 96. they never fold!

The last several times I did that in these kinds of hands they folded. I wrote down to stop doing it on a list of leaks...

Maybe it actually works enough. Do you overbet often to set this up, or only do it with a call station read or something?

Depends on the floptexture and if i can put them on a hand.
Like in my first hand,they only need to have an ace to make a straighy.
So overbetting the pot might look that im scared/bluffing,or theyt think i got an ace aswell and just call.

In the second hand,his line looked like he was drawing for a flush,and the last card was perfect.So i did put him on the nutflush and overbet hoping he would call,and he even reraised me wich was even better.
