I'm happy with the way this turned out, but if I'd known more I likely would have folded the hand.

What's the right way to play QQ when reraised at low limits? I figured I'd see a flop, hope for a set (ideally top set), play it defensively otherwise (A on the flop = bad, possible bigger overpair out there). Biggest hazard is there are a lot of donks out there, and it's hard to judge...

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG ($9.20)
MP ($9.95)
Hero ($14.85)
Button ($3.55)
SB ($16.50)
BB ($3.15)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q, Q.
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.3, 2 folds, BB raises to $0.5, Hero calls $0.20.

Flop: ($1.05) T, 4, Q (2 players)
BB bets $0.3, Hero raises to $1, BB calls $0.70.

Turn: ($3.05) 7 (2 players)
BB bets $0.4, Hero raises to $1.65, BB calls $1.25 (All-In).

River: ($6.35) T (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $6.35

Results in white below:
BB has Ad As (two pair, aces and tens).
Hero has Qc Qh (full house, queens full of tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $6.35.

You are right. It's very hard to read donks at micro limits. Sometimes they really have the monster hand, and sometimes they dont. Which is why I can't wait to get out of 10 NL hehe. Observe.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($7)
MP1 ($4.80)
MP2 ($8.10)
MP3 ($8.40)
CO ($1.70)
Button ($3.75)
SB ($9.75)
Hero ($8.75)
UTG ($1.85)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, K.
UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.10, 3 folds, Button raises to $0.2, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.10, UTG calls $0.10, MP1 calls $0.10.

Flop: ($0.85) J, 2, 7 (4 players)
Hero bets $0.85, UTG calls $0.85, MP1 calls $0.85, Button folds.

Turn: ($3.40) Q (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks.

River: ($3.40) 4 (3 players)
Hero bets $1.5, UTG folds, MP1 raises to $3.75, Hero calls $2.25.

Final Pot: $10.90

Hero has Jc Kc (one pair, jacks).
MP1 has 3d Ad (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins $10.90.

By the way, I'm down bigtime with QQ in micro. (JJ too). Mainly because crap like this keeps happening:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP2 ($6.90)
CO ($5.30)
Button ($12.55)
SB ($5.35)
BB ($4.40)
UTG ($4.80)
UTG+1 ($8.65)
Hero ($10.15)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q, Q. UTG+1 posts a blind of $0.15.
UTG raises to $0.3, UTG+1 (poster) calls $0.20, Hero raises to $1.2, 5 folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.90.

Flop: ($2.90) 5, 6, 4 (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $2, UTG+1 calls $2.

Turn: ($6.90) 2 (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $4, UTG+1 raises to $5.4, Hero calls $1.40.

River: ($17.70) J (2 players)

Final Pot: $17.70

UTG+1 has Jd Jc (three of a kind, jacks).
Hero has Qd Qs (one pair, queens).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins $17.70.

Most not as extreme as this bad beat, but most of the time it's an Ace or King hitting the flop, turn or river and I lose to A2o or K4o hehe.

Well, it turns out I can be a donk too. Just had a multitabler just do this to my aces -- he held TT instead of QQ though.

<sigh> I will learn to lay it down when I think I'm beaten. I remember thinking "this guy could have called my reraise with TT..." Was more worried that I was folding to a steal attempt though (like 3 hands earlier someone else raised my $2 bet with J high when I held QQ -- he was a donk and I folded).

<sigh>

Preflop I dont really think you can play for set value against this short of a stack. Now, Im not saying I would fold this, but Id play it differently. Preflop you have you be raising more than 3xBB, at .5/.10 my standard raise was 0.50. If you were to make a $0.50 bet, and were minraised to $1 by this shortstack I would push. As played, Im pushing the flop. Against a full stack I would raise to around $1.20-1.50, against this shortstack you might as well push and get them all in on the flop.

Revolver, I guess that first hand can show its hard to read unknown players but dont post bad beats in other peoples threads

Yeah, my standard opener at 10NL is .50, $1 if everyone has limped around to me in LP. That either gets the blinds or isolates, usually.

I find it almost impossible to lay down QQ preflop at $10NL. Tun into AK unimproved, JJ, 99, etc against the shoties as much as AA/KK...

i don't know why you'd ever even consider folding here, regardless of stack sizes

I'd probably just push against a guy this short, but calling certainly isn't a mistake and one of the two is always better then folding here.
