JL will become famous soon enough
Villain is a tagg who 3-bets a bit more often than most other nit-taggs at FR. He is overall a bit more aggro than most, but that isnt saying much.

Only a small portion of his range beats me here (88, 55, 87s, 89s), so I re-pop him on the flop because he has a draw here or a worse overpair a lot??

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
8 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
Hero ($248.95)
UTG+1 ($143.00)
MP1 ($200.00)
MP2 ($113.20)
CO ($195.20)
BTN ($197.00)
SB ($30.00)
BB ($92.00)

Pre-flop: ($3, 8 players) Hero is UTG
Hero raises to $8, 1 fold, MP1 calls $8, 4 folds, BB calls $6

Flop: ($25, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $18, MP1 raises to $40, BB folds, Hero raises to $118

I like it.

QQ/KK/AA are out of his range if he likes to 3bet. How about JJ?
he's most likely trying to push you off ak with a good draw or 66/77/99/TT/JJ - way more often than you're crushed anyway. Is he the type to cold-call SCs with from MP? not so standard TAGG, so that limits the range that has you beat even further...

How are you looking? loose/active/aggro?
What is your plan if villain 4-bet pushes?

He is fairly tight so I don't think he calls with SCs but you never know.
My image is Tagg running 16/13.

If he 4bet pushes, I think I have to call.

Does this change at all if villain is a nit running like 9/8/2?

No way you are villain in my hand. You don't run that tight do you??

The hand you posted is against the same villain who stacked me in this hand: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...nd-t70172.html

Well, I ran incredibly cold on Friday, hence the tightness. I didn´t comment yet on that AQ hand, since it´s such a tough spot. I saw named villian showing up with KQ here, still we´re far behind his range. I´ve went thru his hands in PT and I doubt he´d bet JJ/TT when we check to him. C/f flop.
