Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
MP ($182.56)
CO ($124)
Button ($0)
SB ($18.55)
Hero ($99)
UTG ($86.48)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K , K .
UTG raises to $4, 3 folds, Hero raises to $6.5, UTG calls $3.
Flop: ($14.50) 4 , 8 , A (3 players)
Hero bets $9, UTG calls $9.
Turn: ($32.50) 6 (3 players)
Final Pot: $32.50
Is there any way I could have played this differently after the flop? He had position on me which made it difficult. Once he smooth-called the bet on the flop, I don't see another bet on the turn forcing him out. I think my pre-flop Raise was too weak. He raised to $4 and I upped it to $7. I think if I had raised it to say $11-$12 I might have chased off more A-junk hands? In any case I'm not sure what to do in that situation if they smooth-call the Flop bet (when I'm out of position). I don't see many players in that situation folding to a second continuation bet on the Turn. Any ideas? Thanks.

$12 preflop.
If you are OOP and don't want to face tough decisions , define your hand early.

Check the flop. There are no draws and he will only ever call with a hand that has you beat.

And if you check it gives him the opportunity to steal the pot from you. I raise like $12 pf as well.

So we check/call flop? What is your plan on the turn? How do we gain any information about his holding? How many of his bets do we intend to call?
This one may be playing devils advocate a little but if he only calls with an A but bets a much wider range, which is the cheapest way to find out if we are behind?
