I min-raised pre-flop in early position to hopefully get a re-raise from someone around the button..Mixing up my play, so let it be..

The Op had been playing quit a few pots, so I figured he was more agressive and looser than most..

Don't minraise.

I'm calling and paying off a set here. But seriously, don't minraise, this dude could have anything.

On second thought, this screams TT, JJ, or a huge draw. Call his overbet and let the chips slide your way.

P.S. Don't minraise.

Get off the min-raising.

It's my play and I do it occasionally, and i'd say about 75% of the time I get re-raised and I have a chance to build the pot really really big pre-flop with a huge hand.

This is why I sometimes do this from UTG or UTG+1..

If I just flat call, it turns the entire table into a limp fest, therefore rendering my KK's worthless.

If I raise to $1.00 it sets off huge warning bells and I'd say 75% of the time I just steal the worthless blinds.

Occasionally I will min raise, therefore luring a player to re-raise with a hand he thinks is best. When nobody re-raises and I get multiple calls I play the hand very very carefully, but most the time it works and I can have a better chance at disguising my hand and winning a huge pot.

Either way, that's not the point of this post..

Anyone else have a take?

Min raise is weak, I dont care if you set "warning bells" JJ and TT will not lay down for 4x, they see that flop and there like wham. Your flop min-re-raise is weak too i think. Pay off a set if you have to.

Your min raises let some hand like 7-9 catch two pair and is now overbetting to protect. Even though it is against my principle to fold, you should fold since some junk hand caught a big piece.... if you raised higher (like 4-5x bb) I'd call then
Dealer: bencathers has two pair, Aces and Deuces
Dealer: Tbags has two pair, Kings and Jacks
Dealer: Tbags finished the tournament in 256th place
Tbags [observer]: another scumbag gets there on this site lol
