Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

saw flop|saw showdown

BB ($22.75)
UTG ($21)
UTG+1 ($24.25)
UTG+2 ($22.80)
MP1 ($24.65)
MP2 ($20.95)
MP3 ($257.30)
CO ($27.95)
Hero ($25.65)
SB ($24.75)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K, J. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
4 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, MP3 raises to $1, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, 2 folds, MP2 folds.

Normally I don't call raises with KJs but I've been trying to tweak my game a bit to call some raises in position looking to take the pot down after the flop.I call and we go heads up.

Flop: ($2.60) T, 4, K (2 players)
MP3 bets $1, Hero calls $1.

I decide to smooth call here and pop him back on the turn hoping he'll either lay it down or check the river(villain has been pushed off on the turn previously on some hands).

Turn: ($4.60) T (2 players)
MP3 bets $2, Hero raises to $5, MP3 calls $3.

I pop him on the turn hoping to represent the ten/better hand/etc but he smooth calls.I hope for a river check.

River: ($14.60) 8 (2 players)
MP3 bets $6, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $20.60

Not sure if I had picked a bad spot to stand up the maniac. But the backdoor flush coming on the river and his call of my turn raise and subsequent river lead out concern me.His bet smells both of value and a last ditch bluff;however he did raise preflop(as he did like 98% of his other hands) so AK/KQ/KT are all in the realm of possibility(I don't know if he was playing a set).

Does anyone make the call here?I'm also interested on thoughts of my turn raise to steal the pot back.

Holy shit.. he has over 1000 bb's.

If I play KJ, which I wouldn't here, it isn't for TP.

That's what the whole table said.

That was my original intention;then it quickly deteriorated.Hopefully I saved some bets on the river.

You wouldnt play KJs against a "huge maniac"? I agree Id be a little worried about TPGK, but against a player described as a maniac I think this should be good here.

OP: If I am rasing anywhere, it would be the flop, if he calls there Id want to get to the showdown cheaply. How maniacal is this villain? What are his stats?

He put people all in when had gutshots and backdoor flush draws and second/bottom pairs. So yeah besides a fish or calling station he was the next optimal opponent.

Over how many hands?

Agaisnt somebody who is betting a lot and raising a lot, I dont think your raise would accomplish much. A player like this doesnt care what you are representing. I wouldnt fold this turn, but I would simply call it and try to get to the showdown as cheap as possible.
