not sure what i should have done on turn here...i'm thinking maybe i should have just thrown out a 1/2 pot bet? but as played what do you do on the river here?

Bet the turn and check/fold the river. You made it easy for him to bluff you. As played, good fold.
My sig is too much for you to handle.

I don't mind a fold here. Checking behind the turn when the flush hits is my play also as it tells the opp you are not willing to pay off flushes. The made flush usualy makes a callable bet on the river then.

The downside of that is that the big river bet like we see here is just as often a bluff as a value bet. So after the turn check we have to evaluate the chances this bet is a bluff. Your hand is now nothing more than a bluff catcher.
Call or fold as you see fit.
