I'd like to hear feedback on this as well, as I just moved to cash games yesterday and seem to run into this a lot with overpairs. Normally when I get min raised that means a pp-> set. But the board pairing makes pp less likely.

I ran into a very similar situation at 25 NL a few times, and this has worked out well for me. Call the raise and lead out the turn pretty much regardless of what hits. Villan will wonder what you have that lets you call a raise and then lead out again. I've gotten TT folding to my 99 with a rag on the turn, and JJ folding to TT with an A on the turn. If I'm raised on the turn again, which is rare, I fold. I don't know if this is a good play or not but so far I have had good results.

Having said all that, I wouldnt mind a fold (and actually may try that) bc anyone who min raises with 4 players in this hand is either dumb or has a boat or quads.

Without a read, I fold. He could have anything... better overpair, trips, flush draw... too tough to play the rest of the hand OOP.

I think 3-betting is terrible against an average 100NL opponent, with these stack sizes. 90% of the time they're going to stick the rest in on the turn, whether they're bluffing or not. If you want to stay in the hand, call the flop and call his push on the turn.

Ahhhh, you guys are right--I wasn't paying enough attention to the hand while doing other stuff. With two other players in the hand and these stacks, yes, 3betting is not good here.

Mcat--you say call the minraise and then call a turn push (I'm assuming you mean if a rag hits on the turn) if hero wants to stay in hand. Can you elaborate? How is this preferable to 3betting? It seems like the same results, minus the FE hero gets from repping a big hand on the flop.

I'm guessing it's because we don't want him to be able to get away from a hand we beat....he either has the nine or he doesn't, and if I'm not folding, I want to play in such a way to get 88 and TT all in. Is that in the ballpark?
