Is this a good example of getting implied odds? I got tired of getting raised out of pots on this table pre flop so I decided to take a call knowing that if it hit, it would hit big. I also felt villain had AA or KK without question. Focus: Is this a bad call pre-flop?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+2 ($8.05)
MP1 ($6.35)
MP2 ($19.65)
MP3 ($32)
CO ($36.65)
Button ($4.50)
SB ($24.65)
BB ($28.86)
Hero ($23.75)
UTG+1 ($24.75)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9, T. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
Hero raises to $0.75, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls $0.75, MP1 calls $0.75, MP2 raises to $2.25, 5 folds, Hero calls $1.50, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds.

Flop: ($6.35) Q, J, 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $4, Hero calls $4.

Turn: ($14.35) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, MP2 calls $19.65 (All-In), Hero calls $8.40.

River: ($47.40) J (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $47.40

Results in white below:
Hero has 9s Ts (straight, queen high).
MP2 has Ac As (two pair, aces and jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins $47.40.

edit: first time using the hand converter.

I'm not a pro with suited connectors, but I think raising them under the gun is a bad move. You play them in position in a multiway pot, so you have good odds to draw.

I think you just got lucky here.

yup, this is exactly why raising with scs and calling raises with them works.
More often implied odds relates to the fact that you arent getting pot odds on whateva hand you hit, but that if it does hit you are likely to win a big pot off a hand that isnt folding a medium/big pot.

So... assuming villain has QQ and raises to 8x the BB and I have 44, despite the price being bad, its not always a bad play here because if I hit my set and the board is full of undercards, villain will commit?

yes, whos folding QQ on a raggy 4xx board at small stakes?
Not many. At 200nl and perhaps 100nl that becomes different in some cases but not here.

Is this really an example of good implied odds?

Hero is roughly 16/1 to flop 2 pair/trips/straight/flush
Hero needs 1.50 to call and Villian has a stack of 19.65 + rest of pot giving him implied odds of 14.5/1 assuming he can stack him and assuming he gets heads up with the villian. There are still two callers behind who could come along with better hands or reraise/push.

Given possible callers behind and that you won't stack him everytime...especially when you only hit two pair and could end up counterfeited and other scenarios...this seems -EV to me.

Good... good... very good. More info the better. As I said this was more a frustration call and a desire to see a flop for once.. I did get lucky.
