First of all, I admit, I was bored from not playing a hand in 45 minutes, so when the action came to me on the button with 1 limper I decided I would get a bit fancy. The limper was a pretty solid player that made good laydowns....

Here's the problems I think I see....lemme know what u guys think.

First of all, playing it this way, I dont think I raised him enough on the flop....I geuss that was pretty weak....he had to of still liked his hand since my reraise was so minimal.....

I took the free river card....then I tried to represent AK that had missed the flop but caught the river and put out a pot sized bet. He stewed for a moment but then called.....

So....
Was my play too weak and represented a draw the whole time?
Was it retarded to try this stuff at 0.05/0.10?
Any and all comments are welcome....maybe even a slap in the face

If you are getting bored from not playing enough hands, and your play is suffering because of it (which looks like what is happening here), then I suggest you move up to 2 or 3 tables at once. I had this same problem when I started playing 25 NL, and once I played two tables the problem dissapeared since I never got bored. I now play 2-5 tables at all times whenever I play.
BR now: $106900
Playing now: $10/10/20 - $20/40 NL live, $10/20 NL full ring online, $10/20 NL 6-max online, $20/40 FL 6-max online, $100/200 FL live
Goal: $125000 for $25/50 NL live

i would raise more preflop at these tables/limits

.5/.10 blinds .. im guessing NL 10$ ... hes not going anywhere with a 3x BB bet

at the lower limits, ick it up to 8x or maybe 10x whatever gets folds

When you play a hand like 9d 7s from late position you are looking to represent a stronger hand and steal the blinds or sneak into a monster and break someone. Here's what I see wrong with this play:

1. you don't raise it enough - make it .50 to go - you want to get their attention and make them think - that takes more in .5/.10

2. the flop is good for you because its likely your villain missed but he minbets you. Why? Do you have a read on him? Does he do this with TP? People do all sorts of things in .5/.10 so don't think he's being sneaky or trying to get information. Based on your read you either need to fold or come back at him with a pot sized bet. With all the passive plrs in .5/.10 I would fold it. You will likely get called with bottom pair or lower.

3. If he calls your bet, you are done. There is no way you will get him off his hand at that point. Especially in .5/.10.

Thanks guys....those are all good tips. I think I had the intention of being aggressive, but I really wasnt........

Also, I wasnt sure what that minbet meant....I didnt have a read on him as far as that went...at the time I thought he was a solid player.

I'll also have to consider 2-tabling...unfortunately my learning curve hasnt been able to catch up with my bankroll....(vice versa?)

Thanks again!

Min bet at my level reprsents middle or lower pair. If flop comes KK3 a min bet is supposed to say I have a pair of 3s. Of course, it is just as likely they have a K so poeople fold unless they have a K. hehe.
If flop comes 47T, a min bet is usualy saying I have a 4 or a 7 and that is fairly likely.
I don't bet like that but lots of people at my level do.
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

Yeah....that usually seems to be true....or when they are holding a monster. But with no raise and checking away, that showed real weakness to me.....

I shoulda punched a lot harder when i sniffed weakness....but who knows, he probably woulda called anyways.

how often does someone have a monster?

how often do they have TPWK or Mid/Bottom Pair - very often!

At my level (.1/.2 NL$20) a min bet, or near that, pretty much always screams weakness.

Also maybe its different at your level but that looks like quite a large river bet, I think 1/2 pot bet should be more than enough to encorage a fold - if theyre willing to let it go (tho I've heard others say 2/3 bet).

What would you do if you DID have AK, i know id bet about 1/4 or 1/3 pot at the river for a call, not 2/3 pot.

In this hand (apart from AK/AQ) you looked like an aggressive player on a flush draw, getting a free river card and not hitting. He knew you didnt have an overpair to his 10's and simply didnt belive you hit the river
