UGHHHHH. What did I do wrong that made him call with the 10-9 kicker? I already know I shouldn't have played the QJ in that position, so don't mention that please. I don't even know what he was drawing to stay in the hand with? Also, just incase anyone is wondering, I put him on a flush draw.

He's a donkey who wont fold top pair bad kicker.

These are the guys you can't bluff - instead, you wait till have a strong hand, bet the same way and have them give you all their chips.

By the end of him calling on the turn, its time to give it up, unless you want to get real risky and push all in - which he may, in fact call. For all we know, he may have put you on a flush draw (ridiculous, but thats how they think)

You need to set up the bluff preflop with a raise. If you throw out bets when he has top pair and you didn't rep AA/KK preflop, he's not gonna lay it down.

Um re-raise preflop, bet 300ish on the flop, and show strength on the turn.

But it doesn't look like he is letting go of this anyways.

This early in a sng, it's probably best not to bluff at all. That way when you get down to 4 or 5 players, you can bluff all you want. The last few will be capable of folding (unlike this guy), and they'll be used to you having a good hand every showdown.

Keep in mind what you want to represent and bet accordingly. Your bets looked like you were drawing. Surprised the guy didn't raise you.

The whole purpose of the bluff is to scare someone out of the pot. Betting out less than the pot every time is going to make it worth this guy's money on each street to call you with top pair. I don't think he's a bad player at all, he just had no reason to leave the hand. On the river, after calling two $150 bets why is a $200 bet going to scare him off? Gotta be really aggressive if you want a bluff to work.

You want this guy thinking you have AT or something big for this flop so bet big. If you bet small you're not really representing anything.

One simple and kind of obvious piece of advice that helped me with bluffs -- when you decide to bluff, think of the hand you're trying to represent and play accordingly.

Never bluff into more than 2 players. The first hand has 4 players going to the flop. SOMEONE is going to catch a piece of it. The 2nd hand, there's not much point in raising to 500 preflop, 400 will do just as good and risk less with an unmade hand. Bet like 2/3 the pot on the flop and just check/fold it down after that when he calls you. A river bluff might work, but the turn bet is just a waste. Bluffing into hands with a lot of draws is generally a bad idea as well.

What are you trying to represent? The art of bluff is representing a hand you dont have, your raising seems very random. If you wanna bluff pretend you have a hand and raise as if you had it, most ponies wont fold top pair in an unraised pot because they have no reason to beleive they are beaten.
