PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB ($108.30)
Hero ($47.70)
UTG+1 ($17.25)
MP1 ($70.55)
MP2 ($45.40)
CO ($53.20)
Button ($49.25)
SB ($60.25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7, 7.
Hero calls $0.50, 2 folds, MP2 calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2.50) J, 8, 7 (5 players)
SB bets $1.5, BB folds, Hero calls $1.50, MP2 folds, CO calls $1.50.

Turn: ($7) J (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, CO calls $3, SB folds.

River: ($13) J (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $5.5, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $18.50

Is check/calling the turn an option? A nice scenario would be someone picked up a flush draw on the turn and hits on the river, but if they did and don't hit on the river, I don't make much off this hand unless someone has (and bets) their jack. Then again, I guess I do'nt make much off this hand unless someone has a jack or T9 anyway.

So I probably should have bet more on the turn?

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Raise the flop and make a bigger bet on the turn. SB leading out against four callers means he likes his hand, and the only way you're taking a stack here is by building the pot early. As played, pot the turn. And getting over 3:1 I call the river, he could have the straight or be bluffing because you showed weakness.
