$3/$5 NLHE $300 max, California dreaming with the yellow chips
I have just over $300.
Table is kinda tight for live with a couple soft spots. At least one prop and a couple regs at the table.
Loosish guy with about $400 who just lost a pretty big pot (was at over $600) flips 3 chips into the pot. I've seen him raising a fair range and I think he's weak.
Badish, loosish player cold-donks on the button.
I call with A7o from the BB.
~$45 pot
Flop is A K and some other card.
Checked through.
Turn is some other card.
Check, raiser bets $30, button folds, I call after a short pause as to not communicate beating him into the pot.
River is a King.
I check, he reaches then gets this diguested "you win" look on his face and raps the table, I fast-roll my hand like it's the nuts.
The nitty prop player gives me one of those "I though you were one of us" looks. I reply to his unspoken question "I play bad." He laughs, "I play good and I still can't get there."
How'd I do?

FNord = station
I'd play it the same, only probably fold preflop as I hate playing marginal hands OOP. Even though I've been guilty of calling PFRs from the blinds with hands like KJs.
KJs > A7o

I seriously considered a re-raise pre-flop. Figured it would be easier to take it away on the flop.

???
I figured this was your plan when you called preflop until you actually hit your hand then you had to change the way you played it. You're dominated so much that playing this profitably OOP without trying to outplay your opponent is nearly impossible. Throw in the donk, who probably wont give you credit for anything even if you turn your hand face up and I still don't get it.
You probably were just bored and looked down, saw an ace and a donk in the pot and say WTH I call. Its OK, you can admit it lol.

While I see lots of terrible call-downs, the simple fact is that if you play a wide range of hands, more often than not you'll totally whiff the flop and not even have enough of it to make a donk call-down.
The call was probably too loose, but I saw weakness and didn't let a badish hand hold me back.
If you saw the shit I get away with, you'd be SHOCKED.

Image means a lot live, an occasional hand like this pays dividends. That said, I'm with the others, I hate calling pre here (although I'm pretty sure I've done this a few times myself).

Ummmm no KJ is more synchronous because the cards are closer together. Didn't YoungDro teach you anything???
