Once again, I get excited hitting my trips. What might I have done?

As soon as the SB raises your raise after the flop you know he has the straight. Your only hope is to pair the board for a boat. Other than that you know you're beat when you call.

The straight or the flush. And he didn't call that re-raise on the flop, he was already all-in. Frankly I think pushing there was way over-aggressive considering the board. The axiom goes - you will only get called (or raised) by hands that already have you beat. Then you're just hoping the board pairs to save you. I think you should bet hard there but not that hard. Once you got flat called and then raised, you know you're beat - but you don't have the chance to save yourself any money, because it's already in the pot.
