Okay before I get torn into for playing A4, let me explain myself.
The initial preflop call was because they were suited and I will look
for a flush draw if I can limp with them. Honestly calling the raise may have been kind of loose and I called partly out of boredom.
On the flop the guy bets the size of the pot, and I raised him because to me it smelled like an underpair worried about the ace and trying to push the others out. I'm not sure why I drew that conclusion, but maybe cuz thats how I bet sometimes when there's an over card to my pair. So I reraised him, and he went all in.
I called because I still felt like my pair of aces was good. Although I might not be able to articulate it well, I just really read him as having an underpair because thats how I used to stubbornly play when an overcards came when i held a lower pair.

Do you like my read/play here or not?

Fold preflop.

Run with your read, though I think it's a bit silly.

fold to the pre flop raise.
fold on the flop,

Good job on proving me wrong.
My jaw dropped open when I saw you called the all in.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

The only thing I liked about how this was played was that you got the pot in the end. Follow this guy around if you can. Looks like he's paying well.

Okay, let me rephrase myself, it was not a sound play. And to be calling/raising with the ace rag is normally unprofitable, but I was pretty damn sure he had the underpair, and in this situation my hand was good.
Now I look back on it the raise may have indeed signified a strong ace, protecting from the 2 diamonds on the board, so maybe I was just lucky that my "read" was correct.
