Should I have known to fold on his bet? He was a very loose player, with vp$ip of around 65% after 150 hands at the time. That made me think he was bluffing the turn bet to push me off. I ended up losing big and regretting it.

Don't posts results for better analysis. As for the hand, I would just check/fold the turn. What do you think he would check/call the flop with and then bet out with on the turn? The river bet screams "I have a little something, please let me show this down".

jackvance is an unknown quantity at this point
That'd be one heck of a weird bluff if it was one. You raised the flop, so you declared you had a good hand. So now he's gonna try to bluff you out of it with nothing? This is not the best move by your opponent, as you should have no hard time folding here with an overcard on the board. He shoulda check/raised you.

EDIT: ah looked at what he had. With KT he should have check/called to a showdown. Ofcourse you're probably more interested in what you should have done.. but that's a really easy fold for me there, in this context.

Don't base people's preflop decisions with what they would do postflop. You can raise any of this guy's limps preflop, because you know it is mostly junk. Postflop is a lot different though, I would probably not call down unless you have a very strong read on this player...look at what he does postflop on other hands before doing this. Loose preflop does not equal loose postflop. Looking at what this guy did on this hand, raise his limps anytime you are getting into a hand with him and then hit a hand and make him pay through the nose, cause he overvalues top pair weak kicker.

I fold the turn. We can pick better spots, like top pair kinds of hands. Why are we trying to catch this guy with garbage?

As for all the double posting, why is the forum so freakin' slow lately? I'm sure that's at the root of the doubles.

We all fold the turn. You don't even have top pair, he has displayed strength twice - he could have K2 and you still only have 2 outs here.

You have second pair on the turn. Let's imagine a near-equivalent situation in which you hold A6 instead, which also gives you 2nd pair on the turn. Would that be enough to call his big bet?

You are being blinded by QQ's potential strength here, simple as that.

Very helpful replies, everyone. I appreciate the insight, and I am learning some things about what I need. The A6 example really opened my eyes to a problem with my game. I definitely was blinded by the QQ and not thinking "2nd pr". WOW
