I don't often do this, but I threw this one out there. Looking at his hand afterwards, it got me thinking (besides about not 2 barreling unimproved hands)...

With an unimproved hand like this, if you think your opponent may be floating and/or have some sort of draw....is it best to fire the 2nd barrel on the turn or to check behind, bet the river hard when it misses. Same price. With his hand I see why he called, had I played it the other way I wonder how likely he'd have been to call.

Most likely I should have just let this go, but it got me thinking. Now if I'd only had an overpair.

Mixing up your play from time to time is good, and I don't mind how you played this hand. First of all, a lot of players float that flop because it's unlikely to hit you (which is true ). So firing a 2nd barrel isn't horrible. I would be tempted to fire a river bluff, but if he had a draw, you're probably good, and if he has a pair on the board, he's probably not folding it at this point. My last thought is that villain has a small PP here (55 or 77?) and firing a sexy bet on the river would be awesome. But meh...risky.

If villain had donked into you on the river, the hand would've gotten really interesting.

Anyway don't be so hard on yourself, I think this is far from spewage.
Family Cruise IMO
