This really isn't consistent with any hands other than A-A or K-K. I didn't even consider 5-5 a possibility.

Notice how he completely ignores the third flush card on the river and bets all-in anyways.

you played this hand way badly IMO. Don't do that pussy bet on the flop, make a real one, you know he's going to raise you no matter what if he has the goods, and at that point i'd probably just push, or call and get the rest in on the turn.

This would be an interesting time to just straight open push on the flop.

The check on the turn is a mistake IMO. You should have either led off or check raised. He could have AK, QQ.

Why? I thought A-A was one of his likeliest hands, so check-raising seemed like suicide. If he has A-A, then I lose more, if he has K-K or Q-Q, then he just folds and I don't gain anything, and if he has A-K, then he may call or he may fold, but I considered that a pretty unlikely holding. It's not like I have to worry about being outdrawn here if I am ahead. I think calling is the best play.

I was planning on check-raising any turn card that wasn't an ace or king.

I like your fold. The push on the river was a dead give away considering your betting pattern looked like a flush chase. He was hoping you had a flush and pushed his monster house. VERY NICE FOLD. Trap hand all day long.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

It's possible that making a strong bet into him after he reraised preflop might make him suspicious, and I wanted him to feel certain he had the best hand.

I don't think it's really a big deal anyways.

Yeah, the way he immediately bet all-in on the river gave me the impression that he actually wanted to see the third diamond.

Is is just me or is 45s a bit weak for that kind of bet pre-flop? Did you read the table as Weak Tight?

Am I missing something (highly likely ) ?

I just dont see how you raise with a 45s and hit a boat and fold. What are you going for, straight flush?

You made the right lay down, I think. He probably had AA. He reraised you before the flop and seemed to really, really like that turn card.

I think you made a mistake at the flop there, though. You had the full house and the nuts (unless he had 5-5, but then why would he have reraised before the flop?). It was a dangerous full house, though, since you were probably dealing with a large pair. Instead, you should have made a huge bet there after the flop, even going all-in. You knew you had him beat, and your slow playing backfired.

Anyway, it was a brave lay down once you'd reached that point.

I don't get it, he had two outs. You're saying I need to protect my flopped full house against a two outter?

I think I expect to win a lot more than I expect to lose by slow-playing this. Reraising is just telling him to fold when he's practically drawing dead.

I'm not saying that I personally would have been able to fold this, but you should fold....ow, it hurts saying that.

QQ doesn't play this way. The only hand that you may reasonably beat here is AQdiamonds? uh...not even that.

This hand just sucks. On the one hand, he has you beat.

On the other hand, you show weakness on the turn by check-calling. He probably doesn't put you on 45s, so he's thinking that you have a scared overpair: queens or something like that. In that case, he's pushing with crap.

He could have just been continuation betting, and then sensed weakness on the turn, prompting the river all in raise.

Man........

A fold is good in this situation, but I think I call here.

I think your fold at the river was good, playing it this way.

I just dislike the 6 dollar bet like the plague. I guess its not a big deal, just you could've gotten a lot more money in on the flop here than you did, so why not? its never a bad idea to get money in when you think you can when you're ahead.

and also, if any a or k is a spook card, and potentially q also, there's a ~25 - 37% chance you're going to get spooked off your hand by the river. if you are playing in fear of higher sets like this, slowplaying is not worth it because there is too high a chance of a scare card.
